Catherine C’s House

Catherine C's house

Catherine lives in France, and has owned this magnificent doll’s house for the past four years. She says that she has so far completed five of the 20 rooms in the house, and here are some pictures to prove it!

Dollhouse servants' quarters

This is the servants’ quarters of the house. On the floor on the left hand side you can see a pale pink ‘Bella’ footstool, just behind the dog basket. The room is full of detail, such as the rows of jars on the shelves, and the little bells over the door on the right.

Dollhouse hallway

In the hallway there is a ‘May (blue)’ Arts and Crafts carpet, in shades of deep blue and beige, which takes centre stage. On the left hand side, there is a ‘May (blue)’ cushion on the hall chair, which features a motif taken from the centre of the carpet.

Dollhouse Christmas

This room is decorated ready for Christmas. The dining table is standing on an ‘Alice, small (green)’ carpet. The matching ‘Alice’ footstool is alongside. On the table is a teacosy with the ‘Berlin woolwork’ design on it, alongside all the other tea things. In the background, to the right of the fireplace, you can just see an ‘Alice (green)’ bellpull.

It’s a wonderful doll’s house, and Catherine has done a great job on the rooms that she has completed so far. I’m sure the other rooms will turn out just as beautifully when they are decorated, too.
