Dollhouse needlepoint tray cloth kit – Elephant Rug

SKU: 2310 Category:

Your dollhouse really isn’t complete without a cute tray cloth on a wooden tray to help bring it to life! This needlepoint kit for a beautiful 1:12 scale tray cloth is called ‘Elephant Rug’. The design is based on a traditional Oriental style rug that would be used as a covering on an elephant when it was used for people to ride on! The kit includes mahogany pieces to make the wooden tray, too, which is easily assembled. It’s the perfect accessory for your miniature dollhouse room!

This listing is for a 1:12 scale (1 inch = 1 foot) kit to create a miniature tray cloth that measures 1.9 inches wide x 1.4 inches deep x 0.15 inches high when finished. The tray cloth is stitched in tent stitch, which is similar to half cross stitch. Created on 32 count gauze fine silk fabric, some needlepoint experience is preferable for this kit, but if you have done some cross stitch before, you should be fine!

The kit includes everything you need to make this lovely miniature needlepoint tray cloth and tray, except for the stain / varnish, and wood glue. It includes:

-32 count silk gauze
-Anchor stranded cotton floss thread
-Tapestry needle
-Detailed instructions
-Colour block chart to count the design from (please note: the design is not printed on the fabric)
-Mahogany components to make the tray, with detailed instructions for assembly. The wood can be finished using wax polish, or any suitable interior household stain or varnish.

Looking for a special present for the needlepoint lover in your life? This kit makes the perfect gift.

Suitable for those with a little stitching experience.
