This is a new colourway of the popular 'Lilian' Aubusson carpet. Aubusson carpets such as this were manufactured in France from the 1740's onwards. They tended to be generously proportioned, as they were often commissioned by wealthy patrons who had large rooms to fill.

A pretty pastel design in shades of palest peach and baby blue, using leafy Arts and Crafts motifs. The unusually deep border makes this carpet really striking.

This is one of our most popular large carpets, based on a William Morris Hammersmith carpet of the 1880's. Despite being large, it is not difficult, as there are relatively few colours, so it is not a 'fiddly' design to stitch. The burnt orange and Prussian blue background shades are typical Morris.

This Bokharan carpet features the traditional oval 'gul' motif in the central area, which is thought to have been a heraldic symbol which displayed the family lineage of the weaver.

The central abstract area contrasts well with the strong lines of the shaded background, producing a very striking carpet. Fray Check fabric glue is recommended for the finishing of this carpet.
